I didn't know if this was the spot to start this thread but I felt it would get the most exposure here. I was wondering everyone's opinion on the MOST EXSPENSIVE ROSEWOOD WHEEL IN THE WORLD! Where do we draw the line. Soon valve stems will bring $100.00 each. These muscle cars just don't seem to have a ceiling of what these cars and parts bring. The LS-6 distributor was sold from a VERY good friend of mine and he was just as shocked as the rest of us were. But I guess if you want the best of the best were just going to have to PAY the money. I can vouch to the distributor cause I have had that peice in my hands and it is with out a doubt the FINEST that I have ever seen. But you would NOT catch me spending that kind of money. Thanks for letting me vent.

Ummm.... does anyone remember the late 80's early 90's when car prices rose with irrational exuberance? I think there are still a few buyers/current owners of Italian exotics who are still angry about being the winning bid back then. (not to mention a few Cobra buyers)
I don't get it. $3,5oo distributors, $2,ooo steering wheels, $170,ooo Chevelles?? Anyone thinking about selling now and buying back in a few years at a discount?? Could probably make a nice trade or two.... just a thought. I hope the values of these rare wonderful cars keep going up!

Geeze... nowhere does it say that it is still in the box, just NOS. I think I sold Stephano one or two that I probably could have said NOS but were used. I do have two that are NOS in the box with the exception that I took one out of the box and put on a car for a pic and then put it back in the box ...Any really stupid offers on mine ?

Mr Yenko your right I know that I am not alone but this is getting to be nuts
There is no way any camaro is worth that kind of money that I have seen Look at the knuckle head that paid a million dollars for a Hemi barracuda a few weeks ago It seems as long as some one is willing to pay and have that kind of money to throw around the price will keep going up. That does not mean its worth what some one played. What this has done is people that can not afford that kind money end up with clones that hurts the hobby Clones will be coming out of the wood work because of this I feel that my 66 corvette convertible is just as much of being a super car itĂs a numbers matching NCRS top flight award car panted a rare mossport green that was a only year for that color.Right now it worth about 50.000 to 55.000 but I do not think I will never see it being worth the money that some of camaros or the Hemi barracudas that some people are paying. Ok you will say there are more corvettes around than yenkos but a car in that condition is just as much a super car. I really think if and when the stock market starts being more Profitable you will see the car prices fall. As far for the steering wheel all I can say there is a lot of people out there that do not know what to do with their money As for me NO way would I pay that for a steering wheel . Whats next clone steering wheels?? |

Charley I'll give you $2,500 for one if you throw in that crummy Yellow ZL1 with it.
Thinking about rare expensive parts though, next time I sell a car, I think I'll take it apart and sell it one part at a time. Probably end up with more money. The other thing that kills me are the guys that have rare stuff like 499 distributors, BE rear, etc, but don't want to sell them because they want to build a COPO clone. If it is going to be a fake car why bother with authentic parts. |

This is just my option but I think both the high bidders got cought with the game of super high bidding. The idea is with proxy bidding, the other highest bidder sets the price and you beat them by just a few dollors. They are hoping that nobody else is doing the same thing. If only one person does it then it works but if two people do it... well you can see what happens. If you look at the third highest bid, you can see what a jump the bid was.
Does this mean that other rosewood wheels are worth more now? I have noticed that all the rare parts are going for higher prices lately. Maybe the car prices are raising the parts prices. |

I suppose if you have the cash and can afford to spend that kind of money, then what the hell.Me I personally would not or could not pay that kind of cash for the steering wheel,or the distributor. But then again I wouldn't pay $200,000.00 for a car,my wife as loving as she is would shoot me! and if she didn't shoot me,That would be the quickest way for me to loose weight, because I couldn't afford to eat afterwards. So I say if you got it,then spend some of it for what you want or like, because you can't take it with you when you go! Thats why I own a car I can afford. It is not a Yenko,ZL1,COPO, Baldwin Motion,Berger,Dana Or any other Super Car that I can prove but it suits me just fine and I probably have as much or more fun with it than the people that own the Supercars. So if you can afford it then thats great,if you can't then you reach for something within your grasp and have a damn good time.
