Default Courtesy Chevrolet / Dickey Harrel supplier?

Did "Courtesy Chevrolet" in California sell any 1969 novas with 427 motors? If so, did they start out as a 396/375 car?

There was a silver 69 for sale over a month ago.The owner was claiming it was a converted 427 nova from Courtesy but had no docs.

I believe one of Dennis' 68 Chevy II's is a Courtesy car. Dennis, what is the skinny on your Fathom Blue Gibb/Harrell/Courtesy car?

KB,
My Gibb Harrell (COPO #44) blue car was transfered to and sold by Courtesy Chev after a Dick Harrell 396 hi-performance package upgrade. However, the car remained a 396 and was not a 427 transplant, so I can't help much with the Courtesy 427 swapout history.
As I am still in So. Cal and five minutes from the dealership, I will pay them a visit and see what I can find out.

Dennis, Courtesy is owned by Autonation. That is the corp that owns the dealer I work for. If you find anything after a merger like that I would be shocked. The highest employee turn over rate in the industry. The likelyhood of someone being there from 1969 is 1 in a million!

BTW do you work for the Penske auto group UAG?

Frank,
You were correct, none of the guys from the 60's and 70's are around the Anaheim area anymore. I did see the San Diego dealership is still there.

(UAG is a "sister" company)

There is a Courtesy Chevrolet still in business here in Phoenix area. I believe there may even be an old emoloyee or two still working there. There has also been a rumor around for a few years or so of a Harrell 427 Chevy 2 that was on the showroom floor as witnessed by a couple of different people back in 68.
