I have run into dead ends every time I try to dig into my cars history. The previous owner has quit helping now since he sold the car to me and the state DMV's won't give me any information either. What steps should I take at this point?? Tommy

Try looking in the AOL,Yahoo etc white pages for previous owners names if you have any...worked a couple times for me.

I bought the car in Tennessee and the title and registration department shot me down, said it was the privacy act or something and I would have to be a lawyer or law enforcement person to get anything. I live in Alabama where we dont title cars older than 1975 and my car was supposedly puchased new in Alabama. I talked to my uncle who is a PI in FLA so maybe he can help????
