How about some opinions on what this car might be worth. It certainly is rare. It's fully documented, and has had allot of notoriety. Will some serious collector pay $100K plus? Mike

I spoke to the gentleman that owned that car a few months ago (his name is Tom Cahill),I told him about that reunion and he was interested in going.I first saw the car at Old Bridge Twsp Raceway Park (NJ) a few years ago. I am very surprised to hear that the car was up for sale. I will give him a call. Andrew

The car is certainly interesting, unique and well documented. I'm just not sure a '73 body style is going to bring really big dollars. I guess in a few more days the market will speak on the value.

I'm not sure all the high end collectors keep track of what's on Ebay, so, I don't think the ending bid will reflect the true market value. Auctions take at least two bidders to drive the price up. A sale only takes one person willing to pay an agreed upon price. In my opinion, that particular car wasn't a good candidate for Ebay, especially considering that the seller is expecting top dollar. As has been pointed out, however, the '69 B/M Chevelle that was on awile back ended up selling after the auction ended without meeting the reserve for what most consider to be more than top dollar for a car needing EVERYTHING. It'll be interesting to see the activity anyway.

I have seen the 73 Motion Chevelle the last 2 years at the Chevelle showdown in CT. The documentation for the car was on display and appears to be legit. I believe he has pictures of the car with original paint and stripes. He also as letters that were writen back and forth with the original owner and Joel before the car was built. One letter is from Joel asking the owner if he would like to install the last L88 427 motor that Motion had in the shop as a substitute for the 454.

How bad was the condition of this car before the restoration was done? I wonder if this particular car would bring more money if it had been left original, and not restored. Was it raced or wrecked?

I understand the car needed a complete restoration. My question is how complete was the car when you bought it? Did it still have the Ansen wheels, side pipes etc. or was it "updated" with modern speed equipment. Was the original paint on it with Phase III Chevelle script on it? Did you buy it from the original owner etc. Just curious.
