Default Yankees Rookie Pitching Performance

What a pitching performance by Schlittler! Love his calmness... all business and focus... 8 innings, 12 strike outs, no walks or runs scored. No pitcher has ever achieved those stat in a post season game, let alone a rookie... Cam Schlittler came up from minors after July 4th. What a first post season start....

I enjoyed watching him pitch too. Amazing stats for a rookie in his first start ever, especially in the post season. I sort of wished Boone had let him pitch a complete game. Hopefully this is the start of an amazing career.

Meanwhile, our early season call-up whiz (the Miz) set MLB on fire after several awesome starts. Made the All- Star team. Then, went straight into the dumpster. Walks, more walks, hard contact on 3-ball counts. Now getting few whiffs, everyone sitting fastball. Got into big pitch counts, had to be pulled. There was talk he wouldn't even make the NLDS roster. I think he did, but as a mop-up reliever.

No idea where the magic went.

I completely agree with you. He had enough left to go all the way. The result would be even a harder record to break.

Brewers technically have home field advantage. Reality, this is Wrigley/North for Cubs games. The Brewers warned playoff ticket customers they would be banned from future ticket sales if the tix were resold.

Very evenly matched teams. Brewers need to keep the crowd in the game, score early. Peralta has to be sharp. Cannot let the Cubs in the BP.
