Default '66 Corvette L72 Convertible Project

Assuming this one is NOM, and without docs, I'd imagine it would be pretty tough to authenticate the L72 option. Definitely seen some action in its time...guessing you'd be well underwater to tackle a project like this without the original block, but these days, it just might happen (and hopefully, not in the form of a C5-suspension-restomod). Would be cool to see where this one was sold new...interestingly, the seller claims it's been in SC its entire life, but the oil change sticker in the door jamb is from WI.

That's rather bizarre. Why make the claim it's been in SC all the time and then show a pic of that sticker ???
Quite the mess to start with, but doable. I've bought a few vehicles in that condition, but not at 23+k to start...

Since previously owned by a Navy member, could plausibly be from Wisconsin but stationed in SC. Simply got an oil change while home visiting family.

Yep, most likely scenario to explain the sticker, but I still wonder why he even posted the pic. Doesn't seem relevant, other than to show condition of the door.

Or, just to get everyone wound up......

I can Decode the Parking Stickers for you,,,,,,,,,LoL

(LEFT) 8 = August
(RIGHT) 9 = 1999, 1989, 1979

Even tho they closed Charleston in 4/1996, they would have issued tags (year) digit stickers beyond the date of closure since it was an unknown at the time of pass renewal.

I think i have some NOS stickers for Puget I never installed on my commuter bumper or window.

you are right FUnny stuff

Nice Car, Lots of work ahead
