So what was the story with these AMXs?
![]() I sorta remember them, but don't know about them. Were they AMC?

That is a Spirit body AMX made only 2 years 79 and 80. The 79 had a 304 V8 option. In addition to my Matador I have a 80 model AMX that I bought new and still own. It now has a 360 V8 and a Ford 9 rear axle. These cars are now very rare and there are no aftermarket pieces to restore any that are left. It’s a fun car to drive with V8 power under the hood

Reminds me of the "GTO" that was just a re-badged Ventura.
Still some cool factor, but a shadow of the real thing. Not ragging on anyone who has one; nothing wrong with re-living your youth.
