Does anyone know the numbers of COPO 9561, 9562, and 9737 exported to Canada?
It has been posted that Vintage Vehicle Services (VVS) has stated 80 COPO 9561 Camaro L72 427 and some have said about 30 COPO 9562 Chevelle L72 427 does anyone know if these numbers have been confirmed by VVS? also looking to know the number of COPO 9737 Sports Car conversion for COPO 9561, 9562, thanks |

My experience with VVS is you do not get that kind of specific info without paying the $$$. They have a research fee of $90 an hour, minimum 4 hr. charge. They require a form to be filled out with specific options you want researched (e.g.L72, M22, ZL2) make, model, year, colors, known selling dealers, appx. build date - as much detail as you have. Once they find those VINs they don't hand them over to you obviously. It's $124.95 Canadian a pop.
Frank and George have probably done the research for someone already so good chance the number(s) is known, but to do it from scratch could cost thousands of dollars once you find and buy each VIN. But I'd say if you pay the research fee they will at least say how many were sold across Canada - with no added specifics. Just my 2 cents based on my experience. Here is a partial pic of the form -

thanks for the reply
There are a lot of Camaro and Chevelle fans who would like to know more about the 427 COPO Cars. We may be able to raise money from the Camaro and Chevelle fans to pay for the research time to search the microfilm and microfiche or getting the microfilm and microfiche converted to a modern searchable data base Something to think about |

It would take quite a few bucks for sure. See my post over on the Yellow Baldwin car thread Joe - VVS confirmed they have not done the research for anybody yet so the numbers ARE NOT known.

It may be less expensive to convert the Microfilm and Microfiche to a modern data base.
You can buy scanners or have a service do it. The Microfilm and Microfiche can go bad over time and be lost forever. this is from a site that does the conversions... "Microfilm and Microfiche were at one time the best options for backing up critical data, accessing information and reducing the need for paper file storage. However, in the age of ever advancing digital technology, these microformats have proven to be obsolete. Image retrieval from microfilm and microfiche is very time consuming and requires bulky, out-dated readers to view. Plus, the film itself is vulnerable to decay and loss. Converting this legacy data to searchable digital files has tremendous benefits and is often a requirement for companies and government agencies." |

I hope it happens. Pontiac Historical Services is in the same boat.

I am led to believe they (VVS) are not to give out micro phish info (unfiltered) I asked for that data for my car and it was not made available. I even asked if they would black out the codes for all cars other than mine and send me that data but that also was not an option.
I have asked if there is a way to search for a specific option (RPO L89) but did not get feedback that I could pay thousands to search VIN by VIN looking for Canadian sold L89 Chevelles. :-( Maybe I should ask for RPO W31 :-) Ryan W31
