some one hunting a rare 67 427 camaro???

When I see ads like this (below), I get the feeling the car is something special (like an old Nickey car considering it was a Chicago area car). Its obvious the guy hunting it did not own it but knows enough about it....to pay a reward.

Did all racers put 4:88 gears in their cars or could this be some type of clue it could be something special? I also guess it could be a rare 67 Z/28 a guy could be looking for too.
