Don't know if this will be of any help to you, but here is an apparently unmolested service dated core that didn't get any bids. Perhaps it's still available if a service carb will tide you over until a dated one can be located?

Dan, Phil at Auto Custom Carbs has taken good original cores and made survivor carbs for me in the past. You have more dates to choose from with a May carb, but it may still be hard to find an original.

Thanks Eric - I'm really trying to stay with a dated, original only to spend good money once. Also the service date won't help much on the field.
