Any advice on getting the old bleeder screws out? They are now perfectly rounded, and simply don't want to budge!

Don't know if the flame wrench will warp the calipers beyond a rebuild, but heating the area where the bleeder screws are until red, generally allows the bleeder to unscrew with a vice grip.

hit the area with a torch it won't take much to loosen them with vise grips.

A propane torch will get them plenty hot and will not hurt the caliper. I have to do this on almost every set of used ones I buy. Like Rick says, a vice grip and some heat and you are good to go but be very careful of the now very hot brake fluid.

Thanks all, the calipers are totally empty and blasted so I can rebuild them - so no boiling brake fluid (this time!).

We usually tap them with a hammer down to loosen the rust, it has had years of pushing up against the threads and the hammer puts them down. It is a tip my brother showed me. He is a Jeep master tech. We also swear by Mopar rust penetrant. The stuff seems like magic.
