I believe there was a discussion on how to identify a copo heat treated 4 series carrier in a copo rear end... but I cannot find it...

John. The part number on the flange last 3 digits are 234

Regarding the "heat treatment" I believe that was only for the Ring and Pinion, not the carrier.
While the carrier was different and some special parts were used, I don't recall anything other than the Ring and Pinion getting anything special heat treatment wise. |

For future searches, here are all the BE KQ goodies that allot of the BE's are lacking.
The carrier is a standard 4 series and is machined differently inside. ![]() ![]()
