I have never traded a car before, I currently have a car for sale and I have gotten two trade offers for it. I am in Canada and the two trades are in the USA.
My question to you guys is, when you trade for trade a car what is involved in the payment of Duties or Taxes if any? I have never done this before and I am not really comfortable with doing this anyways. Has anyone done a USA To Canada Trade? Let me know what is involved as far as payments or paper work.

I have not done a trade, shipping your car into the US is no big deal, the buyer will be responsible for registration in his/her state and deal with their own tax situation. If the tranaction took place on Canadian soil you might stand a chance of it being considered a trade.
I am guessing here but I feel pretty sure Canada Revenue agency will want their GST on the full value of what the car your purchasing. As the transactions will not be simultanious. Best call a custome broker and see if they can shed some light
