Default Anyone ever weighed a all steel 68-70 BB Nova

Looking for the weight of a iron headed all steel factory BB Nova
An all manual accessory car would be great but ill take whatever data you have

here are a couple of weights off the registration docs.

1970 4 spd car..bench seat..L78...no power steering...2942

1970 TH400 car...with power steering..bench seat...3089

our 70 stripped down red L78..rubber mat also has a weight listed under 3,000 lbs.

My 68 weighed 3600 by itself. 427 w/163 aluminum intake, headers, M20 with 12 bolt

My Deuce is also ~3,300 #'s with no driver. I don't see how the GM listed weights for the BB Novas were even remotely possible!

Sure seems to be large discrepancy with what stuff weighs,considering they were all pretty much optioned the same??????????????????

I have to agree....I don't know how some of the numbers above are so light. I weighed mine on a scale here in town.

IIRC, the car weighed something like 3640 and at the time, I weighed 160 (not anymore), [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/no.gif[/img] [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/mad.gif[/img] so the car came out at exactly 3800lbs.

Here is a picture of me in the Chevelle at the same scale. The car is fully loaded with a full tank of gas, cooler, lawn chairs, small amount of tools and a spare tire.

I've weighed it all by itself and it normally weighs 3600......which is light compared to a unibody Nova. IMO
