Default 70 Camaro or Chevelle Muncie M-22 10L517781

I just got in this 70 M22 Muncie. I thought I would post the partial VIN in the off chance that the car still exists and the owner is a member. The trans has the small output so if it was a Chevelle it would not have been a 454, probably an L78.

Yes, it could be an L78 or Z/28 Camaro. I was saying if it was an LA built Chevelle than it would have been an L78 due to the small output. It sounds like the VIN does not work for Chevelle anyway.

Thanks,

Jason

Jason,
Camaro trans. No Chevelles in 70 were produced with M22 except 454 cars which were all 26 spline input 32 spline output. I don't believe any 396 cars have been proven to get the M22 for Chevelle. If this is a 10 spline input and 27 output from this plant would make it Camaro.
If the original trans tag is there it should be 3968012 WM. Pretty unusual trans for sure. 70 LT1 Corvettes could have gotten this same trans with the same part # tag.

Thanks for the info. For those that have asked, this trans will be for sale but want to give a little time before marketing it to make sure the car is not out there.

Thanks,

Jason

Jason, I will change it to a four speed if I can have that M-22! I will dig up the rest of the parts. Does anyone need a CW turbo 400?
