Default 557 hp L88 55 Chevy

L88 557HP dyno Customer bought this motor from me, who has a Two lane blacktop exact replica 55 Chevy, that is being built to exact specs by the person who built the real one circa 1970. 557 HP stock 12.5 rebuild, and could have gotten more out of it.

Check out the Feb 2003 issue of Chevy Hi Performance. They have one of the most comprehensive listings of the 3 cars used in the filming of 2LBT. According to the article, the #1 car (used in 2LBT & AG) had a 69 427 crate motor topped with a Weiand tunnel-ram & 2 Holley 4bbls actuated by a "Hydrolink" hydrolic throttle linkage & chrome valve covers. The #2 car which was also used in received a stock LS5 454. The "exterior" & "interior" car were both backed by M22 Muncies and 4.88 Olds rear ends. The roll over car was a HT with a piece of wood in between the front & back windows to imulate a post. Wheel & Tire package was American Racing 200S 15x7 with Pirelli tires for the front and 15x8.5s in back with M&H slicks for racing and Firestone Indy tires for street.

The owner of the original 55 used in the movie bought a set of 69 dated NOS heads from me a while back, and they were exactly date wise what was in the car from new I think the owner is in TX. The person who built the original car is doing both restos on the original and recreation car that has the L88 shown going in it . Nothing better than having the guy that built the car redo the original and also do the recreation.

Are you talking about Richard Ruth of Glendale Speed Center? I agree, it is cool he is doing it.
