I have a friend who is interested in this car at the upcoming Mecum Kissimmee auction....
https://www.mecum.com/lots/FL0118-31...i-road-runner/ Anyone have any knowledge of this car? Any input - good or bad - would be much appreciated. TIA.

I do not know specifics about this Road Runner. But looking at the photos I can tell you a couple of things that come to mind:
Hood Pins were never an option on the 1969 Road Runner. Dodge did offer them on 4/7/69 - Chrome hood hold-down pins (code J45) were released for Super Bee, Coronet R/T, and Charger R/T. Hood hinges and front latch were retained. It looks like the Chrome Exhaust Tips are from the Super Bee/Coronet R/T which are square while the Road Runner 's are more oval in shape: ![]() ![]() Fixing the Exhaust Tips is simple. Fixing the Hood Pins if your friend wants the car to be "factory correct" is another story - as far as cost It appears to be an A34: Super Track Pak which included the Dana 60 with 4.10 gears, sure grip (posi), 7 blade torque drive fan, 26" high performance radiator with shroud and power front disc brakes. ![]() As far as the exhaust tips are concerned, you're right, that would be an easy fix. What I want to know: How can any competent restorer make this blunder?? It's a no-brainer as far as I'm concerned. ![]() Pete
