69 SS396 Nova built the 2nd week of Feb. What are some of the earliest date that would be used on the engine(starter, alt, etc)? I have the block, heads and a intake. I also have the correct fan and spacer but looking for most of the rest. I have the 4346 carb but it is a 71. Thanks for any help!

The assembly code for the engine is T0205JH. Will anything within 90 days work or does it need to be closer to Feb.

Many of the bolt-ons have common dates...carbs tend to have closer dates..alternators can have a wider range. Most starters have a date close to the vehicle build date, usually within 30 days...Of course these are my observations on the parts and cars I have seen or own.
Now, to your fan...the correct fan is a 5 blade unit(blades are staggered) with a "w" stamp on the back...there is no spacer, despite what the repro catalogs tell you wilma

The accesorial engine items can be manufactured up to 6 months prior. The NCRS and Bloomington accepts this window. Personally I like the dates to be within 2 months of the motor.

I have the correct fan and if it did take a spacer I have one that is 1". I am missing the alt., water pump and the distributor. Looking at some of the prices they are asking for these parts, I will be missing them a while longer. Thanks for the information though, it helps a lot.
