I just found out that you can use your iPhone as a scanner for the newer cars with OBDll the app and there are a few run about 10 /25 bucks THe most cost will be a OBDll wifi transmitter They go for 100/150 bucks From what I have been told it will do just about every thing a Snap-On scanner but will not cost as much also the app keeps the up date Has any one try this yet ??? hell if it works it would be worth it

I have one. The cable was about 90.00 and the app was free. I used it a couple weeks ago to reset the "check engine" light in my truck. I throw the cable in my Camaro when on Power Tour.

One of the Apps for this is DashCommand that will give you some more cool things like a dash of instruments with data read from the PCM. It also has a skidpad recording G-forces when you're on a track. It can also trough the GPS record your track laps.

This is cool, I never thought about looking into this type of app before! I'll have to look into it.

I got the Android version about a year and a half ago...mine uses Bluetooth, though, so it's wireless. And being about the size of a pack of gum, I can easily carry it in my pocket when looking at used vehicles, which is what I originally bought it for (looking at some used Duramax trucks). Pretty stinkin' handy if you ask me...
