Default radiator cap restoration

i remember seeing a trend on how to clean up and restore a original radiator cap on this site . also is there anybody doing the resto any more ?

As much as I like those AZ guys, Sam, you got to see what Joe does. I'll post photos of the cap I most recently got back from Joe Perri. It is a work of art...

I can replate and replace the pressure valve and seals on RC-15 rad caps if anybody is interested. I know Mike Angelo has seen my work. If the cap is rust pitted it doesn't make much sense to do because polishing out the pits causes you to lose the definition of the stamping. A nice core will come out like NOS.
