![]() ![]() My parents ordered a 72' SS 454 Chevelle in Late April of 1972. It was delivered to United Chevrolet in Worchester, Massachusetts in late July of 1972. It was traded in there sometime in 1974 by my parents for a 1974 Monte Carlo. (BARF!) The car was Mulsane Blue - stripe delete, LS5 454, TH400, White bench seat interior, PS, PDB, 3.31 posi, domed hood - not cowl induction, F41 suspension, AM/FM radio, HD cooling, HD battery, tinted glass, std SS dash - no tach, std SS steering wheel. I gathered these details based on their memories of the car. They didn't take many pictures, the picture with the stripe and custom wheels represents how it would have looked when traded in. It also had bucket seats in it from a wrecked car. I do not have the VIN #, that will be the biggest stumbling block.

Brian,
That would be awesome to find your parents former LS5, I love that it was Stripe Delete and Non Cowl Induction Chevelle. If you have not already, post this same thread on Team Chevelle and on any other forum that you can think of......word of mouth is gonna find her. Do Not Give Up! Dan

Good luck with your search..I'd be hunting that down too,if I was you.
...Just for the record,it's not a stripe delete car,as you can't delete something it never had in the first place. Std. "SS" RPO Z-15 trim didn't include em,just like a tach or bucket seats weren't included either. If you paid extra & ordered the optional ZL-2 working cowl Ind. hood, then RPO D-88 ft.& rear sport stripes were applied to it. If you then noted to delete those stripes during assembly, then that would be considered a stripe delete car. |

There HAVE been worse trades in history.
