It has been a while since I had to get one, Does Quanta still make the most correct (quality) repro gas tank for the late 60's GM stuff.? Any new players in that arena that are worthy.? Thnx in advance

Quanta is a different company. Spectra is a Canadian company and they were a supplier that GM used in the past. I use their tanks and they are nice and accurate. http://www.spectrapremium.com/home.html

The NOS ones I had gotten have had shelf damage, which is why I use the Spectra gas tank. They look identical.

Spectra sells to Quanta. The best price I have found is at rockauto.com

Yes...Everyone started calling these Spectra Premium-made tanks "Quanta" tanks as Quanta just happened to be the first large seller of these to the restoration community in the US. Spectra Premium makes them and as mentioned before, check around...RockAuto is always good and they won't hammer you on shipping costs like a lot of the other vendors will. They all get shipped in a box that you sort of look at and say "oh no...I hoped it's not messed up" but usually arrives in great shape. If you have a problem, RockAuto is also VERY GOOD about rectifying it. Fortunately there's been a lot of competition amongst the resellers here...prices (and shipping) have come WAY DOWN since Quanta was the "only game in town".

I have ordered MANY tanks over the years and only the ones coming from Rock Auto have ever come damaged. That does not make ANY sense since they are all packaged the same and all mine have come via UPS or FedEx. On the flip side, Rock Auto always rectifies it within a day so I plan ahead if necessary. They are very easy to deal with and far cheaper than anywhere else.
