![]() I have a set of experimental Chevy sm. block aluminum heads from the early 60's. One head has extensive damage and was fixed but the repair was very ugly..if You know what I mean. I would like to see about having it fixed correctly. The head has a large hole on the outside where it is visible, so I need someone that can restore the original type finish after repairing the head. I know there are guys out there that do this, but I would rather find someone nearby then send the heads out. (Although I will send the head out if there is noone local)....Any help would be appreciated... Thanks SYC |

Thanks Elon..I will give them a call... and sure, i will post pics later today if I have the chance...
I do not believe they have more than 4 vc bolts..... I know that the exhaust flange bolts are at a 45 degree angle... |

the quality of that aluminium was very poor compared too the quality of aluminium alloys used today. It can be difficult.

You can try this fellow:
Clarkson EngineeringClarkson Engineering Place page 25 Evergreen Drive Lehighton, PA 18235-5310 (610) 377-4804 Maybe BBBenny knows him? I met him through a friend about 15+ years ago. Nice, small shop that did some great niche work. One of the times I was there he was fixing a head for a Cosworth v8. Don't really know what caused it, but basically all 4 holes where the valves were became one giant hole! He mentioned then that there were few people in the country that would touch things like this. |

Thanks for the response guys....but stiill have not found the right guy for the repair...still looking.
here's a few pics..of the good head..haha...anyone have any ideas what they were for/from?? I have an old Hot Rod magazine somewhere that has a motor on the cover with these heads..I just cannot locate it right now. I seem to remember something about a NASCAR connection?? Anyone have the magazine..I believe it was in 74 or 75 Hot Rod. I swore they were o-dash part numbers, but apparently they are something else...at this point I am not sure they are even Chevrolet..????? |
