Default Friday Night AZ Cruising 6 10 2011

We have friends visiting us from the UK this week, and they couldn't wait to check out the cruising scene here in the west valley. After eating dinner at the 5 and Diner on Bell Road, we drove down to 51st Ave to Chili Bombers. They have a cruise there every Friday night. For the most part, many of the same cars show up every week. There were a few new ones there today, but most were regulars.

Dereck and Jane were amazed at the turn out, saying it was larger than most of their car shows. I told them to wait until tomorrow night when they'll get to see a larger cruise!

Here are a few pics from tonight.

Always a favorite!

Seen before, but it is SO neat!

Back east, this thing would be riddled with the tin worm!

That's all for tonight. Going out again Saturday.

"I hear someone else that posts regularly on this very sight REALLY thinks it's cool"

meaning that they bought it?

The owners of the Biscayne are a father & son team. They came out 8 years ago to look at an original paint 72 El Camino I had for sale. As obtained (the bed was always covered with a topper and there was carpeting inside too, this had a PERFECT (as perfect as GM made them) original bed):

after I added Z28/SS wheels:

We went for a ride and the son (then maybe 12 or so) asked if the lighter worked. I said I didn't know, I am not a smoker and I never tried it. I added that the car had never been smoked in and I really didn't want him smoking in the car either ... The dad "got it" and smiled

Anyway, I didn't realize the dad was a low ball flipper and he ended up wasting an hour of my time ...
