Before she passed away, I exchanged letters, which I still have, with Donna Mae about this seat.
The advertisement calls the seat a "jump seat", but Donna Mae told me that it was commonly referred to as a "kiddie seat" at the dealership. Thanks to Donna Mae, I was able to get information on this seat. In addition, a member of the Yenko.net site (who I give thanks to) gave me some information on a person from Bridgeville that was involved with the actual making of the seat for the company contracted by Yenko. As it turned out, the person from Bridgeville assisted with this seat but was not the primary person that made them. However, after some investigation, I was able to find the primary person on the "kiddie seat." I sent him the ad and pictures and was able to talk to him on the phone. He is 73 and no longer works. I bought the car with the seat on 6/3/1968 and have owned it ever since and now have a greater understanding of how it came about. |
