My neighbor Rich stopped by today with his 1981 Z28...he bought it new. 305 4spd...has 60,000 miles. Original paint...very clean car, runs and drives nice.
Thought you folks would like to see it. -wilma

Nice ride. She is a beauty. I ordered a brand new 78 Camaro Z-28 4speed with a 3.73 rear gear posi trac back in 1978. Dark green with a lime strip. It was a beauty. Sales person who sold the car to me said when that car came in from shipment to the dealer he told me he could of sold that Z-28 many times over. The color was a big catch. Black interior, heavy duty suspension. Fun car, not fast but handled and rode nice. Back then i could of bought two 69 Z-28 Camaro's near me for 2,000 dollars a piece. Kick myself and never will forget that mistake.

Looks great, cool it’s the 4-Spd. also I think I like the pinstripes too! Awesome he bought it new so likely still has original documents but if he wants more and hasn’t already, GM Canada Vintage Services has paperwork available including as built Details/Options for 1977 and newer GM vehicles, regardless of where built/shipped new. ![]() ~ Pete .

305, pathetic what GM 'performance' had become by the mid-70s, early 80s. At least it looked cool.

Good looking car. I still have my bought new 1978 Z28 in the same color, Carmine Metallic. I still think the 2nd gen Camaros are the best looking, best styled Camaros ever. I still remember an article Car and Driver did back in 1978 comparing the Corvette, Trans-Am, and Z28. The testers were unanimous that the Z28 handled the best.

no doubt, that Pontiac 400 would walk all over a late 70s Z28. Corvette too.

Here in Canada, 81’s still got a 350 w/ 4-Speed unlike the 305 4-Spd. US cars. We’ve looked at a few in past threads, they’re still out there but often rusty. ![]() ~ Pete .

Cool car, but I'd have to yank that anemic 305 and sneak in a 502, or at least a healthy 383.
