Default interior dye/paint source

Does anyone know a good source to get interior dye/paint? Is my local auto paint supply store able to do something like this or am I going to have to go to a specialist company for it?

I ask as I'm unable to find the correct medium blue paint for my '69 Biscayne. If I'm local, at least I could bring in a kick panel and they can look at the backside of it to match up the color for both the dash pad & kick panels.

I saw Just Dashes has their Fade Away kit, but for 2 quarts (plus whatever is in the kit), it's $200, which I find rather expensive. Plus, I'll still have to send them a sample.

Sam, I actually just called Space Age in Mesa. They're able to mix up whatever I need as long as I bring in a sample. Which is good news. I just hope I can find a decent piece of the kick panels and dash pad that hasn't been ravaged by the sun....

Local Dupont store has 8 color books with every shade you can imagine, or give them a code and they will match from their computer. Once color is selected you let them know % of flat to gloss and what type of surface you are applying, ie rigid plastic, flexable vinyl etc and they mix to specs.

I have had great results in matching blues and greens. i took a green interior sample and they matched stripe paint exactly.

Any auto body shop supply that carries mainstream paints should be able to do the same.

Don,

I've had a hell of a time getting the right interior paint for the Neon Yellow interior paint for the 69 Camaro Daytona Yellow/Yellow Houndstooth Interior we are doing. Space Age was unable to match it, paid good money for paint that was several shades off. Kind of resigned myself that that was as close as I would get. Got a recommendation to try Scottsdale Paint and Supply, 1608 N Miller Rd Ste 4 Scottsdale 480-941-1001. They went above and beyond and NAILED IT!! I usually use Space Age because they are closer but now. if it is a challenge, I will be going to Scottsdale. With Space Age, close, was good enough. Cost was pretty much the same for both places and both places used SEM paint. I previously called SEM, they left me less than impressed. Maybe if you are using one of the regular standard colors that would be the way to go. Soon I will have interior "Neon" Yellow pics that I won't be ashamed to post.
