Yenko and Nickey at CamaroFest5

This past weekend the wife and I joined the Nickey crew at the first ever Camarofest in south Georgia, an event put together to showcase the 2010 Camaro.

Several hundred Camaros showed up, plus tons of vendors, and even quite a bit of GM brass. It was a fun event with drag racing, autocross, cruise on the highway and oval track, and of course a large car show.

Thanks to Beth at Nickey we were able to showcase our car with the new wheels, and try out the drag radials on the track.

I was able to run a best 12.12 at 113.9, with a 1.68 60', with several other 12:20s at 113+. The 1.68 60' was one of the better 60's times, no doubt due in large part to the Pedders drag suspension.

Overall the car did great, got a lot of looks and of course questions about Yenko.

Did I have fun? A couple of days hanging out at a drap strip, what do you think?

Here is a video Bimbi sent me, going against a supercharged car. He had over 11 MPH on me at the end, but I got the win light.

I was able to qualify 10th in the quick 16 shootout, but did not have enough HP to go past the first round, as a supercharged Mopar had five tenths on me.

Hey..I tried that in the index class...cut a -.165 light...yep..red lighted by that much.

I was a great time. Tom was ripping, 20" drag radials are difficult to hook up.
