Dave,

In short: One Arm and One Leg!!

Check this ebay ad. I believe someone (can't remember who Is that Greg Roberts over at Nova Research Project?) makes the rivets which you can install on a set such as these. As you probably know, just because they are NOS does NOT mean they have the rivets.

If they are orig, NOS rivited door sill plates, the last real nos set that sold was 1200,00 about 4 yrs ago.....i have not see another set since.

They are repo'ing them and they look real good - as far as i know, all the hi-end resto's today are using the repo's or installing the rivits yourself.

Yep, a couple of rivets to are cheap compared to the NOS sills if you you could even find them.

Easy to do. Take a look here

Sill Plate Rivets (Click the picture on the page for the details)

They were from the first set I did. Now I can even tell you how to recreate the dimple and paint them to match the originals.

All the NOS sills that i have seen didn't have the rivets. The Parts Place in Elburn Ill. reproduces the correct sills with the correct rivets for a 69 Camaro and are made in the USA.Give them call at 800-442-0411.

Greg,
That's awesome thanks for the tip, a lot of good info on this site. What got me thinking originally is The parts guys at Brown and Brown, a local dealership, say they can order them at $112 each or $224 a pair. I was curious if anyone has ordered a pair and how they compare to the originals or if they are the same as the repos. But after looking at your proceedure, it looks like I can just get a set of repros and do it myself. I will also call the "parts place" and see what they say, Thanks Again.

Dave,
I bought a pair from The Parts Place last year and put them on my (Z)for about $30.00 a piece if i remember. They really look nice or buy a set of NOS without the rivets and install your own.

I ground out original rivets from beat up old sills from the back side. Then drilled and epoxied them into current GM sills, again from the back side.

Maybe it is the picture, but those rivets look like flat top rivets vs the pan head originals. They also look a bit too thick on the edges.

I do not know about Camaros, but the Novas had the rivet painted black. But that quickly wore off.

But then again how many folks are going to get this close to look.

I have some used Nova riveted originals I can take pictures if any wants them.
