real deal, the Camaro is fairly rare.

One sold at B-J a couple of years ago, real low mile car with the old Wing Foot Goodyears on it still, a one owner. It did pretty well. One of my clients has one, the Z29R version. They made several and someone has the complete VIN list of them.

More known on the left coast than in the East ...

They did 3rd gens and Fieros and Corvettes too

Here are some T/A's:

Here is the history from the horses mouth:

http://www.mechamperformance.com/m_docs/dkm.html

They raced SCCA in the early 80's and did ok too.

Out here we thought the BM cars were comical in their excess, I guess it just depends on where you lived, how you were raised and your own personal taste. Like they say, to each their own ...

I do remember viewing these in the showroom back then. But then I had (and still do) a 70 Z28, so ANY/EVERYTHING "new" was a joke during that time. They even made a few Turbo cars.

If I recall correctly they also played around with the Corvettes of that era as well.

They did make these. I remember seeing a '78 or '79 and then another in '84 at mecham pontiac. at the time I wondered which dealer they must of dealer traded something with to get them because mecham had pontiac and gmc. no chevy. I can't say as I have seen one since the mid 80's though so there must not be many.

i agree with you camarojoe! some people dont know what they are looking at. just like a few of the same who posted on this car are the ones that make fun of the bill mitchell huggers, herb adams cheverra,NCE 74-81convertibles, or my favorite how a second gen MOTION camaro reminds them of starsky and hutch. These are the kids that watch the fast and furious over and over again and wouldnt know their arse from a hole in the ground.what a shame
