this may not be the right board to post this, but with all those with the knowledge on the l78, l79 cars related to 65 chevelles, I had to ask a question about an odd 65 convert my friend has. I am trying to help him sell it, but i told him to check something out first. i really dont want to join a chevelle board to ask one question:
the odd thing about this car, and he too knows l79 chevelles very very good, is it is a yellow black black 327/300hp automatic convert, with every possible option plus it has a build sheet, I looked it and i heard this was even rare, to have a build sheet. what puzzles him is its got the emblem showing 'custom' below the normal badge on the inside door panels. the car has air, 12 bolt, tilt wheel, power top, bumper guards, power buckets, power antenna i think, washer bottle, console, and even amfm. it pretty much all original. in anyones travels, has anyone seen that custom interior badging on before? some chevelle person would know? it looks like it was not an day 2 add on. bob |

thanks for the help. I do not know nor will he on where it was built. maybe its on the buildsheet or firewall tag i will check and will send you a pm. we were hoping it had even more options like cool suspension and brakes, considering everything else visible is on the car still. when i saw this type of color combo on some cars at mecum auction (yellow black black), and chevy vettefest, i think it would look pretty cool when restored, especially with the gold line tires. my wife would shoot me if i bought another car (just got a 32 ford 5 window with a missing hemi, so my goose is cooked for a while
![]() will check. my guess based on proximity would be janesville wisconsin, if they truely built chevelles there. he used to have an evening orchad (purple-silver) color 65 L79 chevelle convert 4spd (with AIR i beleive, i need to ask him), that car is now in texas with some collector that is also into 65 z16s. ps, if some of you guys even venture into a 32 ford all steel hot rod project (building one, not buying one somebody already did), I would bet its game over for most. everyday messing with that stuff feels like christmas for me. |
