Rich I did not really have the problems with Amsoil it just a pain in the ass to get You just can not run down to pep boys or the zone and pick up a quirt
moble one when they changed it I had a slugging problem and every morning on cold start had a lifted hag up when I went with royal purple the lifter problem went away IY was when I changed my oil in my rears witch had 75x140 and switch it out with 75x90 royal purple max gear that I saw a major deference this past summer when gas was haging on to 4.00 bucks I could go ON I 95 and set the cruse control to 54 mph and was getting about 19 mpg when I changed out every thing with royal purple changed the plugs with NGK V tec and did the same test and she hit 28 mpg I could not belive this so my wife also has the same year jeep with the same in line six and I did the royal purple thing on hers and ended up with the same results I could not believe it and have tested this time and time again and it still doing fine so to say I had good luck with royal purple amsoil seamed ok but I hate the way they marketed it like a mlm I like to go and buy it when I need it and not go though hoops also there is a will good report for Dr Hass on oil thickness a little long but good infor This is why I am running 5x 20 instead of 10x30 here is the site http://ferrarichat.com/forum/faq.php?s=2...otor_oil_basics Also In the city we were getting 10 mpg on a in line six now we are getting 14/ 15 city driving I never belived that oil could make a deference but hey it doing it |

Norm,
That's about the best you'll be able to buy Royal Purple. I have an account with Keystone Warehouse and that's about what I'm paying.....and maybe a little more. Good stuff, I use it in my race car and many of the NHRA sportsman racers use it too. I want to try the J. Gibbs oil, some claim it's better than the Royal Purple. Jerry |

Norm, I know what you mean about the Amsoil. Fortunately there is a machine shop about 15 minutes from my house which is an Amsoil dealer and I get the 20/50 severe duty synthetic racing oil there for my Nova 396 engine and the 20/50 synthetic V twin oil for the Harleys.
However, the local Murrays Auto parts store sells the 5/20 and 10/30 synthetic Amsoil and I think it is around eight bucks a quart just like the Royal Purple. I have been "sold" on the Amsoil and it is all I use in my everyday vehicle- Ford F150 Truck, My Wife's Hyundai the Harleys and the Muscle Car.. I think the stuff is great. I just bought my Ford F150 in July of this year, put 500 miles on it with the factory oil then changed it and put in the 10/30 Amsoil synthetic and will run that the life of the truck. I also noticed better gas mileage with the truck running the Amsoil synthetic.. GOOD STUFF!! I understand Royal Purple is just as good from what I have been hearing and reading. Rich ![]()

The best price to be had from NAPA is 7.19 qt. You're gunna have to snuggle up to the manager to get that price though. It's a very slim margin line.

Yes, the J. Gibbs is very good for that too. We use Brad Penn (the old Kendall) when we break in an engine on the dyno. Has slightly more zinc in it. Have not wiped a camshaft yet.....maybe I shouldn't say that????
