Default First timer attending

As a first timer attending the reunion, can someone tell me the schedule of events, by day? The only thing I can gleen from the posts is the reunion starts on Thursday, racing on Friday and then car show on Saturday? What happens on Thursday? Can someone give me an overview of a typical reunion event so I will know what to expect? I will probably drive up Thursday so what will I be missing that day?

Joe,

People start to arrive on Thurdsay afternoon...so on Thursday afternoon and into the night...there is sort of an informal meet and greet, as people pull in.

You get to visit with people that you haven't seen in a year...and the are antics in the parking lot as well

Thursday has become the most important day for alot of us. We call it the meet and greet day. Everyone claims their parking spot and sets up their own camp. And we drift around from trailer to trailer catching up with what everyones newest projects. And of coarse everyone trys to bring their local choice of beverage to share with one another. And also they have started a small golf outing for those interested.

To me, Thursday is the most important day of the weekend as it is the time to meet and greet new and old friends alike and get reaquainted and no one is under any time constraints. You can feel the excitement in the air every time a truck and trailer (with the exception of Drew as he has his own unique was of arriving... ) is spotted coming down the road as we all want to know who is showing up. There always seems to be an unveiling or two thanks to the SCW boys and that also adds lots of excitement. Everyone has their hair down and a beverage of choice in the hand and it is a complete blast. Just one big tailgate party.

Friday is drag day at the track and move in to the showplace in late afternoon. Saturday is the show. Saturday night is for anyone who decides to stay over night and head home fresh on Sunday. It doesn't get any better than that.

Not sure that is happening this year as I have heard nothing of a banquet. I also heard Annie and I were fired. Perhaps TC can let us know. It would certainly be missed as Joe's auctioning skills are as entertaining as a Louis Black comedy show!

One thing is for sure, Joe; there will be no shortage of cars to see and great people to meet and talk to.

This will be my third year and I felt right at home from the start. It is great to put faces, (and cars) to the names that we all see on the site. You will never meet a nicer, more knowledgeable group of enthusiasts anywhere.

And yes; each trailer pulling in and then opening up gets the heart pumping whether revealing a familiar car or seeing something for the first time.

Sidenote: Make sure you stop by and visit Mr. Barnhardt and his bride and see his ZL1. Ken is one of the neatest guys you will ever meet and the stories...well, let's just say he has a few worth hearing!
