Default Maple Grove Dutch Classics

Any bets on the SS/AH record falling tomorrow at the Grove? I say Westcott goes in the 8.40 range at 160 in these conditions. There is a couple other cars that will be right behind him. Maybe high 8.30's???? The Hemi Shootout this weekend is a show that should not be missed. I don't care if you are or arn't a Mopar guy. Also Jerry MacNeish will have his new 1967 Z/28 running, I believe in D/S there also. A great weekend for drag Racing as long as it does not rain.

You gotta be kiddin' me...it's gonna be *over* 1036mb tomorrow! That track is what, only 200', cold air, and then that crazy high barometer? Friggin' mineshaft air...wouldn't surprise me a bit if Charlie stepped clean over the .40s and dropped a mid-high .30 in there! Or ever better! He had just an *average* barometer @ No Problem...you going? If so, grab some pictures...

Westcott & Rains, first Hemi pair up...Westcott goes 8.424 @ 156.84 while Rains goes 8.466 @ 155.13...quickest Hemi pair to date! Couple pairings later, Daniels runs an 8.45 @ 145.9 to Pancake's 8.494 @ 154. Crazy fast today folks...

Also, Armstrong's SS/A 'Vette went 8.723 @ 152.62

Westcott junior 8.38@157 and some change, Sr. went [email protected]. Some of the Barton cars were also in the mid 40's at 155 or so. The air was better then racing at Half Moon Bay or Fremont in the winter! A lot of Stock Eliminator cars were running real well also. Jerry MacNeish ran a 10.64 in D/S. Not bad at all for the second time out with the car. If he can run in the mid 10.50's tomorrow morning he may be able to set and back up the D/S record. And that is with a real 1967 Z/28 with a white interior. A great day at the drags!
