Default Distribution block color?

69 ElCamino/Chevelle: What color should the brake distribution block be? After some cleaning, the bracket is clearly gold cad, but the steel block itself looks like it was possibly black, or maybe no paint/plating? I have it real clean. Should I paint it, or send it out to????

I believe it was painted black.

Default Re: Distribution block color?

My research indicates the block should be bare/unpainted.
