Since a few members of the site requested more pics of this truck...we decided to feature it...enjoy!
![]() Hello Bruce, Here is the info and pictures of my truck, 1971 chevrolet truck 3/4 4x4 custom deluxe. I have owned this truck since 1998, for about two years I was looking for a nice 67-72 chevy truck which are my favorite years, to restore or buy one that was done, I lived in ohio then and they were few and far apart, even in the surronding states, living in the rust belt with salt rotted them out and most of these trucks did not have easy lives and were torn up. When I did find a truck it was going to be a 1972 GMC 1/2 ton 4wd that was very nice, deal was made and the night before I was leaving to pick it up I called the seller and the response was it should still be here in the morning when you come to get it, needless to say I was displeased with that answer because i was traveling clear across the state and did not want to do all this driving for nothing, he just stated he was trying to get more money for it and if it was still here when I got there I could have it. Well I was not very happy and that night I went out to a burger joint and saw this truck on the way there, I had seen it before but could never catch up with the owner to talk about it, it had a big body lift, mudder tires, ladder rack the usual stuff that happens over the years, the owner was at a gas station fueling up and I did a quick u turn and jumped out of my vehicle and asked if she wanted to sell that truck, she responded that it was her husbands and he was in another vehicle there just about to leave, I talked to him and he told me it just started in todays newspaper. I know with muscle cars you can have that day 2 look from them and that was my idea with the truck, I swapped out the 350 for a 454 automatic, moved the engine cradle and transmission and transfer case forward that way it would clear the firewall without having to bash it in, it has really old m/t valve covers with fins all the way across the top but no logo on top, finned aluminum calcustom aircleaner, headers with flowmaster exhaust with crossover pipe, 4.10 gearing dana 44 front and the original Eaton H.O.72 rearend, front disc brakes, converted the dash to have all the factory gauges, tach, water, oil, battery, vaccum, redid the interior stock looking, original appliance 16.5 x 9.75 aluminum slots that came from a garage sale, replaced the wood bed floor with new wood, doing that bed floor was one of the worst jobs i have ever done on a vehicle, new rockers panels and I even have done long distance towing with it to the aces chevelle show in TN, people seem to really like the truck so many have commented saying they remember when they bought one of those models new and how they enjoyed the truck, this is not a show truck and it has been my daily driver for about 5 years, I have owned many trucks, this one is my favorite thanks jp ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

You don't see the early 70's Chevy pickups in this kind of condition on the road much anymore. If you do, they are a piece of crap. Very nice JP!
