Default 67 Chevelle 427?

Guys,

I looked at a 67 Chevelle with 427 badging today, minus eng and trans. I recently moved and can't find my Chevy by the numbers book, the local bookstores don't even offer one for sale, so please help me decode the cowl tag and vin:

Cowl Tag: 07A 653
ST 67 13817BAL10527
776 K2
102305

Vin: 138177B208170

PS Car comes with a 69 Vette 427 eng. Just wondering what the car originally was and ballpark of what it's worth. It's a bench, 4spd, with minor cancer in all the usual places, pretty rough but definitely a restorable rolling chassis.

Sold my 67 Chevelle last year, so this brings back some memories. I will try to help, other experts will correct.

13817..vin = super sport car
07A = 1st week of July
BAL in body # denotes Baltimore assembly plant
653 = interior trim code???
776 = turquoise interior color
K2 = medium turquoise exterior with vinyl roof, beige I think
102305 = option codes??

sounds like a cool car, have you got any history? 427 motor should be fun!! hope others can help more. good luck.

776 is Turquoise Bench Seat

653 is an internal plant tracking number/job # and so is the 10527

K = Mountain Green Body Paint 2 = Black Vinyl Top

102305 is another Internal plant tracking number, means nothing about the specific car, as in Options or anything.

Yes, a real 67 SS via the 138177

Obviously, it is ONLY Badged as 427, not Real, as that was not a Factory Option for 67 Chevelles. what it is worth is hard to say without seeing it...

See what happens when you get an expert involved. I'll stay with Novas and step aside for the real knowledge. One question though: I don't see "mountain green" listed in Colvin's book but it is shown in the 67 brochure.

There was a 67 SS 396 with those colors and trim in my area in the 70's ...I think he may still have it but I haven't seen the guy for a long time...

Mike,You are mistaken about the color. [K] is Emerald Turquoise. [H]is Mountain Green.

Hey GTO Don...Is that 70 1/2 from Michigan? Jack Seymors car? If it is, nice car. He lives a few miles from me. I have used that car for reference a few times.

Yes it is Jacks old car! He's a great guy,he waited up for me to 12:00 midnight for me to pick up the car. I didn't realize how nice of a car it is till I got home with it.
