Default first post, question about 68 Berger nova

these 68 berger nova's, were they all 396's? and were they the 350 or the 375 horse models. i cannot find any information on how to see if the car is legit. even if the protectoplate goes back to berger, is there anyway to know that it wasn't just a regular nova sold through that dealership? here's a picture.dealer states it's a 454 (weird that it has a 396 air cleaner huh?)<BR>

That car is from NICAB correct? Originally was a 350 car, shows 396 insignias on the fenders, now has a 454 according to their video on the car.

Also has the small block heater core!

That does it! I'm putting my M/T valve covers and Edelbrock C-396 intake on my 396 when I rebuild it.

basically i just want to verify that it is what it is. I want to know if berger ever put in 454's or if it should truly be a 396. also if there are statistics on how many were made and how i can verify that this car is what it is, instead of just trusting what that dealer says and using the protectoplate and book.
For instance, i was looking at a 69 442 and i found a site (442.com) and it said exactly what a w-30 442 should have, aka body codes, etc... sorry i'm kinda wordy right now.

The POP will tell you what engine it was born with...if there is documents showing a transplant then it could be whatever engine they felt like swapping in whenever it was done.I think this may just be a 350 Nova sold at Berger and later on it had an engine and badge swap...what does your POP say ?

Whats This? This car again. How many times do we have to say it. That was a 350 car sold out of berger and the original owner himself put the 454 in it years later. The car had a protectoplate when it was sold for 8000.00 on ebay last year. The plate said it was a 350 car but i feel it has dissapeared now. Talk about someone trying to get rich ALSO CHECK THE TRUNK FLOOR OUT!

In 1970 there were appx. 10 Berger super novas built. All had 300hp 350s, and extensive exterior frills. Go wing spoiler, super nova script, etc. None, to the best of our knowledge were big blocks. 1 hugger orange car has apparently been found, but she sounds pretty rough. Schonye

I just watched the video that they have on line and it describes the car accurately. It indicates a Berger sold Nova SS that was originally equipped with a 350 and a 4 speed. The man made it quite clear that he was unaware of exactly when the 454 was installed. I would say that would be an accurate representation of the car.
