This was sent to Bob...who sent it to me. Bob forgot to tell me what Keith's 'handle' is on the site...sorry Keith!
Bob: Here are some more shots of our Lemans Sport. It was better optioned than most GTO’s. We bought it in 1992 and I puttered away on it and eventually got the car done. The engine had a broken piston and was parked in a dry garage in 1984. The 400 is repairable but I stumbled onto the 455 all machined and ready to go together. All the new parts were there. I cleaned up the sharp edges in the ports and did a careful assembly of the engine. It has turned out excellent. Although the car was originally silver, we decided to paint it 1998 Grand Prix red. That turned out nice as well. Some times the color on a chip doesn't look so good on the car. My wife, Dale, has always driven stick shift cars and thoroughly loves driving this one. About the only things that we didn't get with the car were the side moldings for the belt line and the AM/FM stereo radio. We replaced the cracked dash with one from a 1970. I have since come up with a good '72 dash from a Lemans that I parted out last year. We even got the original Pontiac floor mats. The B-A gas station was restored but has been used as an auction hall. It's a stop that most local people eventually make on a Sunday drive as the station makes a fine backdrop for the old cars. We hope you enjoy the pictures. As for the Firebird, you got all the pictures that I have of it. I just wasn't very camera happy in those days. What a shame.
