Epic role as the seedy Sheriff in White Lightning too.He & Burt were excellent together in that movie.
He was such an ordinary mild mannered guy,who could transform himself into any role w/o any fanfare.To me,THAT is what makes an actor great,and that we still talk about his many rolls long after the movie is over...R.I.P.
