Default Alternator Repair SoCal

Does anybody know of a good place in SoCal to take an alternator to? The restored/date coded alternator in my '66 Caprice seems to be low on output voltage and needs to get checked out and possibly repaired. I'm concerned that it'll get bounced around and marked up if I take it to somebody that doesn't know what they're doing. Any suggestions? Thanks
