Let's see some pictures of Chrome reverse wheels on '60s muscle cars.
I've noticed that these seemed to be VERY poopular in the 60s for GTOs, Chevelles, etc, but it is a look seldom seen today. Not everyone could afford the newest "trick" mags of the day (cragars, americans, etc). |

Here's my '68 Chevelle, probably late '68/early '69.

That is a great picture Dennis. What drag strip? Did you trade that in for your LS6?

That was taken at our strip (White Hall). And yes, that's the car that I traded for the Black '70.
I still have the steelies that came on the '68. When it went to Gibb for the '70 I put the stock dog dish caps on the chrome rims and let them go.

Chrome reverse wheels would not fit on disc brake cars, only drums.

Disc brakes were still an extra-cost option on the '68 Chevelles; even with the SS 396 package. Mine had drums all around.

Love the Chevelle pic!
Wonder why that look gets ignored today, while Torq Thrust style wheels get used far too often? Torq Thrusts and Cragars look very good on most cars, but Cragar S/S and cast 5-spokes weren't the only day 2 wheels. |

Late in '68, not long after I bought the car, I followed the current trend with chrome reverses on back and mags up front. F-70s in front, G-60s on the rear. I think the reverses were $17.ea at Pep Boys.
