Default 1972 Nova Rally

I bought the car off the original owner back in 2009 when I was 19. It sat in a clean dry barn in Vernon British Columbia since the early 80s, retaining all its original paint, decals, interior, etc. The car was built in Van Nuys California and shipped to Vernon Motor Products, British Columbia. The car currently has 40,000 miles, both build sheets and GM of Canada supporting docs. I spent day and night of my teenage years rebuilding the car at my work (GM bodyshop) and 2 years later the work has finally paid off. The engine is not original to the car, its a CE stamped K block (people say the K is a Canadian block) with 1969 dated "492" 2.02/1.60 matching heads. All sheet metal is original except for the SS hood louvers that the first owner had added back in the 80s

Year: 1972

Model: Nova Rally

Engine: 355, forged flat tops, 1182 forged crank, isky 280 mega cam, 492 hump heads, contender intake, 750 holley. Runs on 50/50 avgas/94 pump.

Body/Exterior: First repaint, #53 placer gold, NOS. 3M Rally decals (found them in a box in the trunk dated 1978 from a GM dealership) First owner must of had intentions of repainting one day

Front End: F40 suspension, front discs, original rotors, front/rear sway bars, traction bars.

Transmission: TH350, overhaul kit, deep sump pan, 10'' 3500 stall

Rear End: 10 Bolt 8.5, 3.73 gears, overhaul posi kit, GM 300lb S-spring

Exhaust: Hooker super comps, 2.5'', raptor mufflers

Wheels/Tires: 70's era torque thrusts, F70-14 Firestone Wide Ovals

Interior: White buckets, center console with custom Smiths gauges. Original seat covers, floor mats, etc.

Electrical: Lightly smoked all exterior light lens. (tinted clear coat) All warning system lights work correctly.

Additional Comments: All I need are some yellow front tow tabs!

I came back for a second look at your car. You were only 19 when you bought it? Man, that is great. How did you get interested in the old cars? The 19 year olds in my neighborhood all play those stupid video games. I couldn't get any of the 14-15 year olds to move a pile of brush in trade for a real nice Schwinn bike! Once again, very nice car. You should be proud of yourself.

Thanks TDW. I have always loved muscle cars and anything that came from that era. Always tinkered when I was growing up and finally saved enough money. Working in the bodyshop was a huge help and great career, I am now a ticketed prep & painter. I have built a few other cars including a close friends original 1973 Chevelle Malibu (Canadian built and sold car), as well as my personal driver 1994 S10 pickup.

That's sweet! I'm not normally a big fan of Gold, but everything 'works' on this car. Great combo, and you absolutely CAN NOT go wrong with American Torque Thrusts!!!

What size wheels? I'm running 14 x 7s w/ F70s on my Nova and I have a slight clearance issue on the Rt rear.
