How about Bruce Springsteen's "Racing in the Streets" or "Stand On It"? He's got other car songs, just can't think; it's late.
Also, I was flipping through stations on XM radio the other day and one of the hard rock channels was playing a song titled "Heavy Chevy" by the Jetboys (I think). Hadn't heard of either before. It had a hard beat, but wasn't as "acid" as some of it can get.
