Default Unusual 1968 Trim Tag

I went to look at a 1968 Camaro today in a barn. Unfortunately, it wasn't everything that we thought it was but, it did have a very unusual Trim Tag. Black Houndstooth Interior with Black Paint but, what color is the vinyl top "6"?

The number "6" represents a white vinyl top. Kinda cool on a black car with black and white houndstooth.

I thought that White was 1 and Black was 2.

Why do you say White was 6?

And yes I think it would have been very cool.

I've never understood why black conv. and black vinyl share the # 2, while white conv. and white vinyl have their own seperate #'s.

Unusual color combo on a coupe. Only seen a few like that. Lots more as ragtops.

What's even more unusual... It's a column shift Camaro. Ed

Pete, That was the disappointing part. It was supposed to be a 6,000 mile car. Its more like a 106K mile car. The interior is gone and the car is painted Carolina Blue. The only picture that I took was the trim tag. Ed

Bummer Ed...sounded cool though!.
I saw this yesterday looking for a pic of one but didn't post it thinking it may be the deal you were into?.
Looking closer now it's an RS and in Hawaii but if a Coupe and not Convert sounds like a similar combo ?.
Maybe Jeff knows this one?.
