..it's actually the upper door side molding, not under,(i.e.rocker),as I typed earlier and those are the later issued 2nd design pieces, released sometime during 1973-74.
They first used moldings #8701149 RH,& #50 LH on the line during 1969-70-71-72 on 2-door models.

FWIW,

Second design had painted insert vs the vinyl insert used earlier. And the shape was slightly different on the ends.

You could always add the insert if you are looking to go correct.

Hmmmm, that's strange. My book shows 8705636 to be a nut, LH.

I guess I will start saying,"I would give my 8705636 for that."

Just joking,

Jason

How about this one: 7795024? These door moldings can be tricky, there were the two designs as previously discussed and spanned many years....

"a new nos gm never installed door molding shows as fitting 1969 ,1970 Chevrolet nova chevy 11 models shows fits 2 door sport coupe shows as fitting either left hand (drivers side) or right hand (passengers side) this is a anodized aluminum molding new gm part # 7795024 item is still in gm plastic rubber as shipped from factory "
