I'm going to Mecum next month and this is one of the cars that I'm interested in. Does anybody here know this car especially the paperwork and/or drive-train? Thanks, Ed

I'm not familiar with the car and looking at the photo's show lots of correct things for a 1966 L72 passenger car. The ad doesn't state it, but it appears that the car has the K66 Transistorized Ignition option (the coil has a TI sticker on it and a TI harness can be seen hanging at the plastic channel). The front lower valance seems to painted body color, which they never were from the factory. The tires are far from stock and I think the wheels and caps are a later vintage (maybe '66 Nova/Chevelle??) The pictures are pretty limited. I would love to look at it and see the paperwork. It would be nice to check numbers and other things. I'll pass a link on to a buddy of mine who might know something.

-------Cool ride. I have always liked the optional guages in 66 SSs. The wheels look like 68 Corvette wheels to me. They have the 68 on up Corvette trim rings but that extra inch (making them 8 instead of 7) is missing at the inside edge of the trim ring. I will be looking forward to seeing this SS as Im marvelling at the quality of the original paint........Bill S

If thats the car I am thinking of it was offred to me several years ago by the widow of the original owner miles in the thirties the paint was nice but peppered on the nose. I think Chuck Hanson wound up with it for a short period . I'll call him in the AM. Jim

Thanks for the responses gentlemen! These days I'm really trying to do my homework on the front-end instead of going and getting caught up in the auction buzz. Plus I'm a sucker for blue-on-blue Chevrolets. Ed

The car was in an article a few months ago in one of the muscle car magazines. They mentioned the owner wanted the front end all one color so he had the front valance painted blue. The motor pictures look correct.I have one of these all documented and stock, be glad to help with any questions.
