"Have become very good at recognizing "family traits from my parents" (good and bad, lol) in my kids and that makes me smile for sure"
Not much more satisfying than seeing one of your kids and grandkids excel while exhibiting one of your good traits. Not much that is more painful than watching them emulate one of your bad traits which then results in pain or failure. Hopefully, the good outweigh the bad.
