Although we don't have classes specific to unrestored cars, we do welcome them.
Nice, unmolested unrestored cars will do well in our Gold Spinner Concours classes. Judging criteria is based on how the car left the factory and points are deducted for deviations from stock.
Condition of the car overall is taken into consideration.
Another alternative is to come in as Non Comp/Display Only with no judging, as many of our Showcase participants do.
Rough unrestored cars are considered on an individual basis.
It doesn't necessarily have to be shiny to be welcome at the show. Unrestored originals are very well received.
As many of you remember, The "Camouflaged Soldier" unrestored original 1969 L88 Corvette was on display in one of what I call the "Hot Spots", right up front at the main entrance. For more info on this particular car, go to
www.nickeychicago.net
So how about bringing your 65 Corvette for Display Only/Non Comp? We would love to see it!
We take our Judging very seriously at Chevy Vettefest. We are investigating this aspect of the hobby and if we are able to establish an appropriate judging format, this could be something added to the show in the future.
Thanks;
BA
