Re: 1969 COPO 9561 just found out of Denver Co.
Was! is the key word now its in my garage. Cool story how the guy found the car, the original owner walked in to his repair center in Denver and seen a 69 Camaro grill on the shop floor, he said "69 Camaro grill" the shop owner said ya good eye, original owner said I bought a 69 Camaro brand new off the showroom floor at Luby Chevrolet here in Denver had a 427 in it and I took it and raced it. The shop owner said 427 originally like "COPO" he said ya thats what they call them COPO. The original owner said I will bring you by some photos of me racing it w/ a news clip of winning my class and taking home the money and I still have the original invoice and misc. papers and poss. the window sticker somewhere. Well the shop owner did some real leg work and was able to track the car down, it had only changed hands twice since the original owner sold it in 1979 and it was still there in Denver so he put the car and the paperwork together! Would have like to been the one to put it together. I was the first to get the car from the shop owner after he placed the ad, and the paperwork and a great great story. One neat thing is the original owner middle name is Mike whice he goes by, he put his name on the car whice is my fist name. So I thought I would put my name on the car go race it a bit then do a full restro someday. Thanks Mike
